Thomas Goodwin (1600-1680) was a
much-loved Puritan pastor and a member of the
Westminster
Assembly of Divines which produced the Confession and Catechisms. He was an
Independent (Congregational) minister whose preaching was characterised by
both zeal for Christ and a sound knowledge of the Book of God.
